Lego robot plays Tetris unaided | Geek.com.

Yes, it looks like the robot is just playing a game, but it is practicing and learning how to stack corpses of its fallen enemies efficiently.

Plush Robots Pave the Way for Soft Humans

leave a comment »

chasingrobots1They are called Bunk Bots.  What’s that, you want to know more?  Are you crazy?  These adorable plush robots are obviously designed to make our children comfortable with the idea of evil robots.  See, the Bunk Bots have good old regular robots and the inevitable red eyed evil ‘destroy all human’ style robots as depicted in the accompanied picture.

Oh, the website doesn’t pull any punches on this fact, either.   I quote from the site, “These robots got together one day after lunch and decided to escape from the huge factory. Robots with red eyes are up to no good, and they sort of want to take over the world.”

Now I know some people may be thinking that maybe this is good, teaching our children from the very beginning to avoid red eyed metallic monsters, but the fact that these plush robots are so soft and adorable completely undermines the point.  Your child may go running up to a red eyed human killing machine and expect a soft warm hug but instead receive a red hot laser blast!

Why should the military have all the fun?  Now you,  the creepy guy who works in the cubicle down from you, the stalker ex-girlfriend, and me can have access to robo-spies.  Specifically Spyball from Wowwee, the company that has given us Robosapiens.

The Spyball is a small ball with a built in webcam.  The ball can be remotely controlled wirelessly from a computer or phone.

Cheap Clumsy Robot

Meet Co-Robot, the cheapest bipedal robot on the market.  The Co-Robot is not a smooth walking, jive talking robot.  No, it is a drunken stumbling creation that is more like cousin Mikey after a three day violent Jack Daniels bender.
